Restore first, tune afterwards
Official CSR2 help says that tuning a Legends car unlocks only after it is fully restored. If you cannot use tuning on a Legends car, check its restoration state before trying to reproduce someone else’s settings.
This is a restoration requirement, not a recommendation to spend resources without a plan. Identify the exact car you are working on and inspect its current restoration progress.
Components and performance parts
The official Legends tuning article lists the daily calendar, Rare Imports and events as ways to earn Legends components. Check the current reward display for the car or component involved; an old event guide is not proof of what is available today.
Keep restoration components separate in your planning from fusion parts and Stage 6 upgrades. Finishing restoration unlocks tuning, but it does not mean that your car has the same installed performance parts as a fully built reference setup.
A restoration planning record
Write down the next visible restoration requirement rather than estimating the total from memory. Update the record after you receive components or complete a restoration step.
| Check | Record |
|---|---|
| Car | Exact Legends model and current restoration state |
| Next requirement | What the restoration screen requests |
| Available components | Your current inventory for this goal |
| After restoration | Installed stages, fitted fusion parts and available tuning |
What to do once tuning unlocks
Begin with a record of the starting settings. Compare the installed stages and fusion parts before using an outside tune. Change one setting at a time and repeat the same race distance so your results are easier to interpret.
A restored car and a fully upgraded car are not the same description. State both restoration and build information when sharing a result with other racers.
Be careful with irreversible choices
The official post-restoration help says restored Legends cars can be tuned and can also be stripped for parts. That is not a recommendation to strip a car you still need. Review your current goals and the game’s confirmation screen before making a choice you cannot simply undo.
Is there one best restoration order?
This article does not claim a universal order. Your current requirements and available components matter. A community route should be labelled as a suggestion, with its assumptions made clear, rather than presented as an official rule.
