Can You Race Friends in CSR2 Live Races?
Official CSR2 help says Live Races do not let you select a friend as your opponent. Understand that limitation before planning a race together.

The direct answer
Official CSR2 help says Live Races do not allow you to choose to race against a friend. Instead, the mode uses a matchmaking system to match players with others around the world.
That means opening Live Races together is not an official friend-invite function. Do not interpret a shared start time as a guarantee that the game will put both players into a chosen race.
Choosing a mode is not choosing an opponent
Entering the same type of race and selecting a specific opponent are different actions. The official limitation concerns opponent selection in Live Races. This article does not claim that every other game feature follows the same rules.
Check the current game’s available controls if a feature has changed. An old video or community tip should not be described as an official invitation feature without current evidence.
Compare results without a direct match
You can discuss builds and compare recorded results without claiming to have raced each other. For a useful comparison, disclose the exact car variant, installed upgrades, fitted fusion parts, tune and race distance.
Keep the two players’ results separately labelled. A comparison of individual runs is not a head-to-head result, and neither should be presented as proof that one setup wins every race.
Where to check the rule
The official ‘How can I race my friends?’ article is the primary reference for this limitation. If the current game offers a new control that appears to change the answer, check updated official guidance before relying on it.
